Your donations continue to support the Meaningful Activities role at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, providing wellbeing activities for our patients. Shane, who’s in the photo with our Meaningful Activities Co-ordinator Helen, said this about a recent visit:
“It’s been brilliant you visiting me throughout my time here. It felt like you’ve listened to me… kept me company… and given me so many different things to do. Your visits have helped to calm me down and keep going, thankyou. I finally get to put up my bird box in the garden as well!”
Since Helen started in August 2021:
- More than 430 patients have been visited
- 882 hours have been spent with these patients
- The main support provided has been a mix of creative expression and relaxation
We now have five meaningful activity volunteers – three are already visiting wards 3, 18 and 14 with the final two starting at the end of the month. Thank you – on behalf of the hospital, the charity team and our patients – to everyone who has made this happen.
