Tonnes of gratitude for Bletchley Turf

In a heart-warming display of community support, the Cancer Centre Garden at Milton Keynes Hospital has undergone a remarkable transformation, thanks to the generosity of Bletchley Turf, a local family business with a big heart.

Chair of MK Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital & Community, Clare Hill shared, “We started looking at the Cancer Centre Garden last autumn, undertaking the task of clearing away lifeless plants while also introducing a selection of bulbs in anticipation of a vibrant spring display. Due to prolonged periods of heavy rainfall, the bulb planting schedule was delayed slightly!

“One glaring observation was the lack of topsoil in the garden, and so, mid-March, we were immensely grateful for the generous contribution from Bletchley Turf, a reputable local company, who donated 6 tonnes of soil.

“This was enough to fill the beds situated directly in front of the windows overlooking the garden. It meant we could put in some new plants, grown by myself and Marta.”

Vanessa Holmes, Associate Director at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity added, “On behalf of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, MK Friends, and staff at MKUH’s Cancer Centre – thank you Bletchley Turf!

Your kind donation hasn’t only helped replenish the much-needed topsoil in our Cancer Centre Garden, but it’s also enabled us to enhance the beauty and vitality of the space for patients, visitors, and staff, creating a soothing and therapeutic environment in challenging times.”
