We’re delighted to announce that Milton Keynes Hospital Charity has been chosen as a Franklin Solicitors LLP charity partner for its 2025 £50 Challenge.
What is the £50 challenge?
The Franklins £50 Challenge is an innovative fundraising initiative which has been likened to BBC’s The Apprentice, as it puts entrepreneurial skills to the test.
Franklins Solicitors, a leading legal firm with offices in Milton Keynes and Northampton, launched the campaign in 2018, and since then has successfully raised over £135,000 for local charities, shining a spotlight on their invaluable contributions to the community.
What’s the theme for the 2025 challenge?
The #Franklins50 challenge theme for 2025 is: “Local Help and Hope for Every Generation.” It’s about making a positive and lasting impact across the community.
How does the £50 challenge work?
The Franklins £50 Challenge will see businesses and teams in the Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire communities competing against each other to raise as much money as possible for their chosen #Franklins50 charity.
When you sign up, Franklins Solicitors will give your team £50 seed funding and three months to find ways of increasing it as much as you can.
You can be as creative as you wish, but make sure it’s safe and legal! Think bake sales, barbecues, auctions, car washes…
When does the challenge take place?
The 2025 challenge will run from 24 February to 23 May 2025.
Andrea Smith, Partner at Franklins Solicitors, said:
Each year, the £50 Challenge continues to grow and attract more participation. We received over 40 applications from charities who wanted to be part of the 2025 campaign. It was an extremely difficult decision to narrow this down. So much so, that we decided to select 12 charity partners, a 25% increase from last year.
We’re really excited to be working with local charities who do amazing work in our communities and rely on public support to help make this happen. We hope to see as many businesses as possible signing up to make a difference. As well as raising money to help make a positive impact in the local community, it’s a collaborative opportunity for teambuilding, networking, getting creative and having fun.
Vanessa Holmes, Associate Director, Charity (Fundraising and Volunteering) added:
Milton Keynes Hospital Charity is absolutely over the moon to learn we’ve been chosen as a beneficiary of the Franklins £50 Challenge for 2025. The theme ‘Local Help and Hope for Every Generation’ aligns perfectly with our mission. As a charity, we are here to support everyone who comes through Milton Keynes University Hospital’s doors—from birth to end of life.
We provide crucial support to premature babies, giving them the help they need to survive, and offering their families reassurance and hope. We stand beside our cancer teams to support patients, families, and carers through every step of treatment, care, and recovery. This commitment extends across the hospital, from the neonatal unit and children’s wards to cardiology, intensive care, and physiotherapy.
Our charity is dedicated to empowering hospital staff to provide the help and hope our patients need to live their best lives. It’s why we jumped at the opportunity to join the Franklins Challenge as soon as it was announced.
We would be immensely grateful for the support of local businesses. Getting involved in this challenge is a fantastic way to make a difference at Milton Keynes University Hospital, so please share this inspiring initiative with your teams.
