This week we were delighted to unveil Milton Keynes University Hospital’s (MKUH) latest patient experience enhancement, funded by donations to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity: a new Infant Feeding Corner in the main entrance.
Recognising a need
Kim Hadjicosta, Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) Officer initiated the project, sharing that parents were struggling to find a suitable space to sit and feed their baby in the hospital’s main entrance.
What we did
We supported discussions with MKUH’s maternity teams and the Milton Keynes Maternity Voices Partnership (MNVP) to see how we could best meet this need.
The goal
To create a comfortable, fit-for-purpose seating area in the main entrance where parents can feed their babies and pregnant service users can rest.
The result
Thanks to generous donations to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, the vision became a reality and Vanessa (Head of Charity) unveiled the new space in a gracious fashion.
The unveiling took place on Tuesday 10 December, with representatives from MNVP, Kim Hadjicosta, maternity, and charity staff in attendance.
Georgena Leroux, Midwife and Maternity User Experience Lead said:
I’m so pleased we can now offer this area for patients and visitors who need to feed their baby. A special thank you to the charity for making this possible, and to Kim for her valuable observation which kickstarted the whole project.

Special mention: We’d like to thank the The Colour Crew team who kindly printed the signage for the new Infant Feeding Corner at short notice!
