Milton Keynes Hospital Charity is delighted to announce that the Duke of Bedford has agreed to be Patron of its £2.5 million Cancer Centre Appeal.
The Duke will support the work of the charity as it seeks to raise funds for the new integrated Cancer Centre, to open at the hospital towards the end of 2019. Already £600,000 has been raised, thanks to the fantastic efforts of corporate and community supporters across Milton Keynes and its surrounding areas.
The Duke says: “I am delighted to be supporting Milton Keynes University Hospital, as Appeal Patron for their new Cancer Centre, which will make an enormous difference to patients and their families.”
Trust Chairman Simon Lloyd says: ‘We are delighted that the Duke has chosen to be Patron of our Cancer Centre Appeal. It is wonderful to have such a prominent member of our local community join us as we push on to raise the funds we need to ensure that our new Cancer Centre offers a warm and welcoming environment for patients and their families.’
The hospital’s new Cancer Centre will see the majority of cancer services integrated into one purpose-built centre worthy of the people of Milton Keynes.
