The Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital and Community has this week donated £50,000 to the newly-launched Milton Keynes Hospital Charity Radiotherapy Appeal. This magnificent donation gets the appeal off to a great start towards its £500,000 target.
The MK Friends have been supporting the hospital for decades, and as a group of volunteers have raised over £3.5m for special projects at the hospital since 1980. Their partnership with the hospital’s charity is focussed on collaborating on projects across the Trust – including, in this case, the Radiotherapy Appeal.
MK Friends Chair Clare Hill is looking forward to the hospital charity and the Friends working more closely together. She said: “For us, this is all about collaboration It is our pleasure to be able to donate to the radiotherapy appeal, and lead the way by making the first major gift to kick things off!!
Associate Director for charity, Vanessa Holmes, said: “We are very pleased to be working with the MK Friends in this way, and the donation they have made to our new appeal is just phenomenal. We are so excited and proud to be working with them. Thank you for your support.”
